This is a vintage advertising premium or give-away. It comes in the original paper envelope, which reads: "DELL O'DELL...FUNSATION - FEMAGICIAN...The DELL O'DELL Show A,B.C. Television Center, Hollywood 27, California...Every Sunday at 7 P.M., Channel 7...DELL O'DELL'S DANCING DOLL...DELL O'DELL is available for your next Banquet, Children's Party, Club or Private Residence." If you don't know "Dell O'Dell," I encourage you to do as "Google Search" - she was one of the earliest female stage magicians, touring in the 1920's. She toured in vaudeville and burlesque shows, and was quite a magician, juggler and comedian! Her local TV show, in The L.A. - Hollywood area, premiered in 1951. This "Dancing Doll" is made of flat cardboard and measures just under 7 & 1/2 inches tall. This is basically a "finger puppet" - just place your fingers inside the openings, and they act as her legs. The "doll" is in EXCELLENT condition, with a small stain on her BACK side. It even includes the original "booties", which have been folded and taped, as per the instructions on the envelope. (You may never see another example WITH THE BOOTIES!) The envelope is FAIR to GOOD, with a small tear in the upper / left corner, and some soiling. A great addition any collection of antique magic related items and posters or local children's television programs.
