General Information:
The Tele-Path Instruments Model 527 ISDN Test Unit is a compact, battery operated device used to conduct testing of ISDN circuits at the customer premise, the input and output of the ISDN repeater housing, or at the main distrubtion frame. The Model 527 is designed both for rugged durability and ease of use, with LCD and audio response to setup and testing.
The Model 527 will function as a NT1/NTE (Network Termination/Terminal Equipment). It is connected to the DSL (Digital Subscriber Loop) at the U interface. It is compatible with the 2B1Q DSL interface.
The Model 527 ISDN Test Unit allows you to establish a loopback on either B channel. In NT1/TE mode, it will respond to a B1, B2, or full bandwidth (2B+D) loopback command from the Central Office.
ISDN tests made by the Model 527 include:
FEBE (Far End Block Errors) and NEBE (Near End Block Errors) in ISDN U interface mode
FE (Frame Errors) and BPV (Bipoloar Violations) in ISDN S/T interface mode
U interface line polarity
Bearer service selections: circuit-switched voice and 3.1 kHz audio, 56 and 64 kb/s circuit-switched data, D packet
Intelligent Testing (IT Trademark of TPI) features: Guess SPID, Auto Call Control, Call Yourself, Loop, and BERT macro, Sense-IT (TM) (sense data on the line)
Bit Error Rate (BER) testing
Cause message decode
Pre-Qualification of the loop: Generate 40 kHz tone
Establish B1/B2 loopback from unit
Response to B1, B2, and 2B+D loopback commands from the C.O.
Supports BRIV (Basic Rate Interface Verification)
For Domestic Customers: Packaging, handling, and order processing included in shipping in all domestic shipments as quoted by the shipping calculator. For International Customers there is a .00 minimum for packaging, handling, and order processing. International shipping to be determined by destination.
