The sizes of the fittings relate to the inside diameter of the pipe they are suitable for
Plastic Hose Fitting suitable for use in the home, garden and automotive. Made from copolymer polypropylene which is a classed as non toxic food safe material.
Excluding the flow tap and hose clips, the plastic fitting can handle pressure up to 8 bar and temperatures up to 80 degrees at a reduced pressure.

The wire fits between the ribs to give a better seal on the pipe - TIP; to give the clip a better seal, pack the outside of the flexible hose out with electrical tape or similar to thicken the area up where the hose clip will clamp down.
We recommend the use of hose clips on all plastic fitting especially those above water, this will help to prevent any pipes coming off the fittings from pressure which could drain your pond or tank etc.
