Description

The Jonard CM-8 eight-way coaxial cable mapper maps multi-run coaxial cable systems to and from a central bundle and is designed for use on coaxial cable installations including cable and satellite television, audio/video equipment, closed-circuit TV, security, and alarm systems. The instrument maps and tests for opens and shorts on cables up to 4,000 feet and DC cable resistance up to 100 ohms. The built-in tone generator enables cable tracing (probe not included). Live voltage detection protects the meter from damage. An auto-power-off feature turns the instrument off 12 seconds after pass/fail results are obtained or after 30 minutes when the instrument is in toner mode. It is powered by two 3V CR2032 batteries and includes a low battery warning light. A copper cable tester is a device for troubleshooting, inspecting, and certifying copper network cabling. Devices range from one-button tools for checking connectivity to complex tools for certifying network installations. Three types of testing include verification, to test whether a connection or cable is functioning correctly; qualification, to test a network's ability to support specific speeds and functionality; and certification, to verify whether a network installation meets industry standards. Cabling contractors, installers, and network technicians use copper cable testers to set up and maintain networks within a building or on a campus in corporate, academic, manufacturing, and other enterprise network environments.
