Glosso Factory, Dry Format Bacteria:
The 90-95 strains of dry bacteria in this product are dormant until in contact with water.
They are coated with amino acids and pro-biotics to feed the cultures after initial wetting.
After consuming these coatings many or all strains, depending on your aquarium water parameters, will consume ammonia and nitrite present in the water column and begin to multiply.
Note: Chlorine and Chloramine found in tap water can inhibit bacteria growth, use with de-chlorinated water.
Dosages:
-Dose 1 scoop per 10 gallons twice weekly for new tanks 1-4 months
-Dose 1 scoop per 10 gallons weekly for mature tanks.
(1 scoop = 0.15cc by volume = 0.07 grams)
(1 gram treats 140 gallons)
Water changes:
-Dose 1 scoop per 10 gallons of new water before water change.
Tank Set up:
-Spread 2-3 scoops per 1 sq. ft. evenly around tank base before adding planted tank substrate.
Filter Maintenance:
-Add 2-3 scoops after cleaning filter media or add to new filters to jump start bacteria cultures.
Recommendations:
-Add powder directly into conditioned aquarium water or mix in container first.
-Fish and shrimp will benefit from consuming any un-dissolved powder directly so pre-dissolving is optional
-Store sealed in a cool dry place.
Notes on usage, Read before use:
-Note: Chlorine and Chloramines in tap water will inhibit growth of bacteria; use de-chlorinated water.
-If using for a ‘fishless cycle’ with ammonium chloride follow recommendations carefully, do not overdose ammonium chloride, monitor PH and temperature regularly.
-Note: Common fish and livestock medications can interfere with bacteria growth and colonization.
Nitrosomonas strains Convert Ammonia into Nitrite.
Nitrobacter strains convert Nitrite into Nitrates, a compound less harmful to fish and greatly beneficial to live plants.
The mixture of these strains together, as well as the incorporation of a broad range of strains, 90-95 present, makes establishing a proper bacteria cycle easier, more efficient, and less prone to errors caused by disparate water parameters across differing conditions in fresh water aquariums.
